I’m a former athlete and coach, and that’s who I am at my core. It’s also how I got started in this creative journey. During my senior year of high school, I used iMovie to create football highlight videos. (I think that was inspired by watching Tavon Austin highlights when I was 12.) After graduation, I spent all of my money on a Canon G7x and used it to make silly little videos with my friends. When I wasn’t in class most of my college days were spent either being creative or playing football. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Journalism and a Minor in Interactive Media from Simpson College and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

After my freshman year of football, I started making “Sizzle Reels” of the various sports teams on campus, and learned as I went. Early I did not have the technical skills, but I had a knack for what looked good and what didn’t. The following year, I began creating recruiting graphics for my own football team. One thing I remember that was particularly impactful was the reaction I’d get after releasing a video or graphic—the pure joy it seemed to bring people. That’s what keeps me coming back to this work. I love what I do because of the impact that creative work can have on small businesses or teams, especially when the attention isn’t already there.

I am the son of two entrepreneurs. My dad, Steve Howard, is an independent contractor who has spent most of his life working with his hands, using value engineering and innovative practices to tackle any project he takes on. His skill set is truly unmatched—he’s a master craftsman, a jack of all trades, and someone who finds creative solutions to even the toughest challenges. During the pandemic, he took on the extraordinary task of remodeling the entire Highlander Hotel by himself. This included redoing all 97 rooms, bathrooms, and flooring. He even rediscovered and reengineered a historic sunken bar in the supper club, bringing it back to life with his ingenuity and craftsmanship. His dedication and resilience in completing such an enormous project, especially during challenging times, has always inspired me to work hard and think creatively in everything I do.

My mom, Angela Harrington, is a hotel developer and owner with a passion for revitalizing historic properties and transforming them into boutique hotels. Her work goes beyond real estate development—she focuses on breathing life back into communities, creating spaces where locals and travelers alike can connect. Growing up around her and witnessing her approach to the hospitality industry has given me an intuitive understanding of how hotels operate. From branding and guest experience to community connections, I’ve seen firsthand what it takes to create successful properties. This experience has made working with hotels seamless for me, as I’m familiar with the nuances of the industry and the importance of crafting a story that resonates with guests. Watching her navigate challenges and bring her vision to life has shown me the power of combining creativity and business acumen to make a lasting impact.

Together, my parents have demonstrated the value of hard work, innovation, and perseverance. My dad’s ability to problem-solve and execute, and my mom’s visionary approach to hospitality, have both influenced the way I approach my own business. Like them, I’m passionate about building something meaningful—whether it’s a video that tells a compelling story, a brand that resonates, or a moment that connects with someone deeply.
