George’s Local - 9.1
These wings were a pleasant surprise. The presentation automatically brings up the rating without even taking a bite. When you look at these babies you know that someone gave a shit when making them, which holds a special place in my part. So… Kudos.
Now the wings themselves, typically with every wing review I go with BBQ, mainly because almost every restaurant with wings has some variation of BBQ. Also, Buffalo sucks… Sorry, not sorry. Anyways, I went with the Korean BBQ wings. The main things I think about when reviewing wings, 1. Crunch. When I bite into a solid scoring wing it has some crunchiness to it, I am not a fan of a soggy wing. 2. The quality of wing. Nothing is worse than getting a wing that is the size of my big toe. 3. Flavor. It has to have a good balance between smoky and sweet, for BBQ specifically. 4. (and this is honestly the only one that actually matters.) How does it make me feel?
So… I try a drum and wing.
George’s Local lands at a 9.1 for many reasons. 1. As I said above, the presentation is emaculate. 2. The crunch was good, not elite, but very very good. 3. The flavor was a good mixture of smokey and a kick, obviously due to them being Korean BBQ, so I was a fan. Too much spice would’ve taken them down, but I felt there was a good mixture there. And lastly, when eating these wings, they made me feel… that they are some damn good wings.
Shout out to George’s Local. These kicked ass. Monster Score.
